How Quickly Things Change

Ruby can now sport a full-fledged big girl ponytail.  Nevermind that it lasts all of 5 minutes, but it's there.  Must take after her mother with a full head of hair.  Curls next???

She's also quite the little baseball fan.  Or at least if the San Diego chicken is there :)  A couple weeks ago we went to an I-Cubs game with Mike's family and Ruby was delighted by the chicken.  Anything he did was amazing to her.

And she's also become a quick fan of getting her toenails painted.  Here she is patiently waiting (in her big girl booster seat) with the polish for me to do hers.  We even put a little flower on her big toe this time in true pedicure fashion :)

And for Mike and I.  Mike is much better and still adjusting to his feeding tube.  The pain is no longer evident and now it's a matter of figuring out how in the world to sleep comfortably, travel without kinking the tube, and finding that thing called,  hunger, when you are getting a constant stream of nutrients all day.

I, on the other hand, have started up school and will greet kids into my classroom this coming Tuesday.  I always get excited when I'm allowed to buy new utensils, etc. in my classroom, but this year was the mother load.  I got 4 new Kitchen Aid mixers in various colors to match my lab group colors.  Talk about oober excited!!!  Those mixers will be known as my new "babies" and may no student mess with them...or else!

One more thing....Mike's sister, Missy, has moved in with us due to her new job in Waukee.  We are all excited to have her with us and Ruby thinks she's the coolest thing since sliced bread.    Mike and I have ato get used to talking to an adult in our house again instead of just childish talk to Ruby :)
