So this past Sunday through Tuesday, Mike, Ruby and I had a chance to catch up with Mike's brother, Mitch and his family in Chicago. We all met up at our hotel downtown and started out on our adventures right away. Our first stop was the Navy Pier! Ruby and I were super excited to ride the HUGE Ferris wheel, but then it got even better! Mike could ride too. So we all hopped in and enjoyed the ride.

Monday we made our way to the city zoo. On the walk there we ran into a fire house and the guys were out cleaning the truck. The kiddos thought that was pretty cool. Then we hopped on a bus to take us the rest of the way there.

Monday night we parted ways from Mitch and Krstin and made our way down to Millennium Park to check out the The Bean, the fountains and then over to Water Tower Place to do some shopping and catch supper.

Tuesday we took it easy and went swimming after breakfast, walked around taking in the sights of downtown Chicago and then met up with Mitch, Kristin and their kiddos for lunch right on the Chicago River (I think :).

We split ways after lunch and made our way back to Des Moines with a short visit in Williamsburg. Why Williamsburg? Some of the coolest people live out there by the names of Brad, Racheal and Carter and Pat and Laura! The pizza isn't too shabby either at the Pizza Haus in Williamsburg.
By the time the pizza was eaten Ruby was quite ready to get home and to her bed. As soon as we made it into our driveway and in the front door, she took off for her bed and climbed in with her shoes on and all, ready to go nigh-nigh.
