Santa's elf made it here late this evening just in time to settle in under the Christmas tree with a surprise for Ruby. Why a phone book you might wonder? Well, let me tell the story behind it.
A few days ago the yearly telephone book made it's way to our front porch with a loud thump. Mike told Ruby that someone had left her a present and outside she went to go find it. Low and behold her "present" made it under the tree...likely place for a present right? I, on the other hand, grabbed it the other night and threw it away considering it junk. Ruby awoke the next morning in tears to find her present gone and I, baffled as to why. Mike filled me in and thankfully the recyclables were still indoors and the phone book was retrievable.
That's where the elf came in to help "redeliver" Ruby's present. Tomorrow morning will surely be a treat as the delight in Ruby's present and the magic of the elf comes to life. The elf will be a guest with us until Christmas and keep an eye on Ruby while acting as Santa's messenger. Not only will the elf relay messages to Santa, but serve as a chance for Ruby to teach the elf from right and wrong. These little fellas have been known to be quite mischievous :)
And on a side note...thank goodness, Santa knows that Ruby doesn't particularily like boys so instead, he sent us a little girl elf. Name to hopefully follow soon!
